Movers Harrow Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Movers Harrow in relation to our responsibilities under relevant modern slavery and human trafficking legislation. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Movers Harrow has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We are committed to conducting our business in a manner that respects human rights, promotes fair working practices, and safeguards the dignity and wellbeing of all individuals who work for us and with us.
We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, contractors, and business partners. Any indication that modern slavery may be present within our operations or supply chains will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and addressed with appropriate corrective action, which may include termination of contracts or relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Movers Harrow provides professional moving and related services. Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, packaging materials, facilities, and a range of professional and support services. We recognise that certain sectors and geographies may present higher risks of modern slavery, and we seek to identify and manage those risks proactively.
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and who can demonstrate compliance with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To reduce the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains, Movers Harrow undertakes proportionate due diligence on existing and prospective suppliers. This may include requesting information about labour practices, working conditions, recruitment processes, and subcontracting arrangements.
Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits to assess compliance with our standards and contractual obligations. These audits may be desk-based reviews or onsite visits, depending on the level of risk identified. We expect suppliers to cooperate fully with any audit process and to provide supporting documentation when requested.
If issues are identified during audits or reviews, we work with suppliers to develop and implement corrective action plans. Where a supplier is unwilling or unable to remedy issues in a timely and satisfactory manner, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Movers Harrow encourages a culture of openness, transparency, and accountability. We want all workers, contractors, and stakeholders to feel confident raising concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical conduct without fear of detrimental treatment.
Concerns related to modern slavery, human trafficking, or other serious misconduct can be reported to management or through established internal reporting channels. Reports may be made in person or in writing. All reports will be treated sensitively and, where possible, confidentially.
We will investigate all allegations thoroughly and take appropriate action, which may include involving external authorities where necessary. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
Training and Awareness
We aim to raise awareness among our employees and key suppliers about modern slavery risks and the importance of identifying and reporting concerns. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and site supervision, may receive training and guidance on recognising indicators of modern slavery and following our reporting procedures.
Governance and Annual Review
The oversight of this Modern Slavery Statement and related policies rests with the senior management of Movers Harrow. They are responsible for ensuring that appropriate systems and controls are in place and for monitoring the effectiveness of our approach.
This statement will be reviewed at least annually, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, guidance, or our business operations. The review will consider feedback from audits, reported concerns, supplier engagements, and any incidents that may have occurred.
Following each review, Movers Harrow will update this statement and our supporting procedures as necessary to improve our efforts to prevent and address modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
